Quick summary: We collect only what we need to run the service. We never sell your data. You can delete everything at any time. The AI only learns from your website if you explicitly say yes.
1. What Information We Collect
Account Information: Your name, email address, and password (stored encrypted) when you sign up.
Payment Information: We use Stripe for payments. We never store your card number — Stripe handles that securely.
Chat Data: Messages sent between your visitors and your agents (or our AI). This is needed to provide the service.
Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, login times. We use this to improve ChatChey.
Website Scan Data (AI Agent only): If you choose to use the AI Agent and give consent, we scan publicly visible pages of your website to train the AI. You control this completely.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide the ChatChey service — like showing you chats, sending notifications, and processing payments.
To improve the product — we analyze usage patterns (anonymously) to decide what to build next.
To communicate with you — account alerts, payment receipts, and product updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
We DO NOT sell your data to advertisers or third parties. Ever.
3. Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but this may prevent some features from working correctly.
4. Who We Share Data With
Stripe — to process payments securely.
OpenAI — if you use the AI Agent feature, visitor messages are sent to OpenAI for processing. This is covered by OpenAI's data processing agreement.
Hosting providers — we host on secure cloud infrastructure.
We never share your data with anyone else without your permission.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices: encrypted passwords (bcrypt), HTTPS everywhere, secure database storage, and regular security reviews. Despite this, no system is 100% secure. If we ever detect a breach that affects your data, we will notify you within 72 hours.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to fix incorrect information.
• Deletion: Ask us to delete your account and all associated data.
• Export: Download your chat history and contact data any time from the dashboard.
• Withdraw AI consent: Remove AI training data from your website at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@chatchey.com. We'll respond within 5 business days.
7. Data Retention
Active accounts: We keep your data for as long as you have an active subscription.
After cancellation: Data is retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted.
AI training data: Deleted immediately when you withdraw consent from the dashboard.
8. Children's Privacy
ChatChey is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes, we'll email you at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show when the policy was last changed.
